Saying So Long After 27 Years...

After October, 2020, we will be suspending the monthly fish fry at UPVFD. Your community Volunteer Fire Department has prided itself on coming together with you for 27 years on the 4th Saturday of the month for food, fellowship, and fundraising. But times have changed from what they once were, and a variety of factors have made it impossible to continue, including rising food costs, number of volunteers available, competing events around the community, and others.

We will still serve all 10 months for 2020, and we are inviting and encouraging you to join us for what should be the most memorable year in our history. Please join us to celebrate this great event and help us look to the future as we continue to serve you in emergencies.

That doesn't mean we will never have another fish fry or can't look for options to do something different down the road- we'll keep you posted on what the future holds. For now, just plan to set aside the 4th Saturday from January to October and come down to see us for the best all-you-can-eat fish fry we can bring you.

______________________________________________

From January to October, we empty our bays of fire fighting gear and fire up the kitchen! For over 25 years our special recipe fish has been deep fried fresh, on site, by our own members. We added the best sides- fries, cole slaw, and homemade hush puppies. There's chicken for those who prefer it.

Did we mention it's ALL YOU CAN EAT? Dine in plates are only $11 for adults and $5 for children under 8 years old, and it's all you can eat. Don't have time to stay? Get a to-go plate, only $11 and we'll fill it up. Add a sweet tea and you're all set.

The fish fry is from 2 P.M. to 7 P.M. The FOURTH Saturday of every month. We only take a break in November and December because of the holidays. We'd love to serve you a plate, if you'll join us. All proceeds help fund equipment purchases and upgrades to keep our department at the top of our game to serve you better.

(PS- we're always looking for volunteers in the community to help with this event! Please get in touch if you are interested in doing anything to help us out with setting up, serving, or cleaning up.)
